The Alternative Staffing Alliance, a national association of social purpose staffing companies, just posted a great member profile of DePaul, including a Q&A with our President & CEO Dave Shaffer about our exciting plans for national expansion.
Dave discusses DePaul’s model and how “staffing offers tremendous potential to employ people with disabilities and other barriers,” while meeting the needs of private sector customers and helping them comply with the new Department of Labor utilization goals for hiring 7% individuals with disabilities. Dave provides further details on the rebranding of the division as PurposeSTAFF to “more explicitly communicate our social mission to employers” and plans for expanding through partnerships, as well as our recent benefit corporation registration.
DePaul is proud to be a member of the ASA, and as you may remember, we co-hosted the ASA’s seventh annual conferencein Portland last September. The ASA’s members are alternative staffing organizations that utilize a demand-driven, temporary staffing business model plus supportive services to provide a quality service to the customer, while helping people with obstacles to employment enter and advance in the workforce. These obstacles may include disabilities, previous incarceration, unstable housing and other barriers to employment.
