Dave Shaffer, Chief Executive Officer of DePaul Industries, will be a guest speaker at the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics (SASE) annual conference in Madrid, Spain in June 2011. He will sit on a panel that will discuss “employment flexibility, labor market change and the role of employment intermediaries.”
Founded in 1989, SASE is an international, inter-disciplinary organization with members in over 50 countries on five continents. The academic disciplines represented in SASE include economics, sociology, political science, management, psychology, law, history and philosophy. The membership of SASE also includes business people and policy makers in government and international organizations.
“The invitation represents a great opportunity to contribute to a valuable discussion on employment that transcends continents and cultures,” comments Shaffer. “Being in the company of such distinguished individuals and having DePaul Industries recognized as a leader in its field is very exciting.”
DePaul Industries, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, is the premier in the Northwest of people with disabilities. The organization earns 97% of its revenue, with fundraising producing the other 3%. DePaul Industries accepts no government subsidies and operates three business divisions – staffing services, unarmed security services, and food and consumer goods packaging.
